This year, Danceteam has the privilege to take part in the Let’s #BeActive School Action Day for the second time.
Next Monday Danceteam is teaming up with other sports organizations in Leppävaara to put a move on hundreds of children and teens. A part of the European Week of Sport, School Action Day was born as an initiative by the European Commission to tackle the worsening inactivity crisis among all ages. The event has grown to be a great success and is now arranged for the fifth time, having become one of the biggest sport events for school-aged children and teens in Europe.
This year Danceteam is taking part in School Action Day for the second time. What better way to #BeActive than dancing? Dance as a part of the school curriculum has recently received an increasing amount of media attention, as studies support its positive effects on both physical and mental health especially among young people. We are proud to be doing our own part in encouraging young people to move – not just in Finland, but in all Danceteam countries.
School Action Day gives students a possibility to try out several different sports within one action-filled day, and Danceteam will be there bringing the beat and the heat at our own dance station. If you’re at the event, come say hi – we’re the ones wearing black and yellow. Join us and #BeActive the Danceteam way, not just one day, but every day of the year!
